DADU Construction
A complete second home on your own lot
A detached accessory dwelling unit is a full construction project in miniature — sitework, structure, systems and finishes all in one footprint. SCC Construction manages the entire build as one coordinated project, from the first site walkthrough to the final walkthrough with you.

Scope of work
Everything a small, complete home requires
DADUs pack everything a house needs — foundation, framing, plumbing, electrical, heating, kitchen and bath — into a compact footprint. There is no room for sequencing mistakes, and the finish work is all close enough to be judged at arm's length. We plan the build in the right order and keep the trades moving so a small project doesn't stretch into a long one.
Seattle and many Eastside cities allow detached accessory dwelling units on residential lots, which makes a DADU a practical way to add space for family, a rental unit or a home office. We work within your city's requirements and coordinate the inspections so the unit is completed properly and legally.
Seattle's new DADU rules
Recent changes to Seattle's zoning laws make detached ADUs larger and easier to build than before. Units can now be built taller — up to the height allowed for the main house — a lot can host two detached units instead of one, and parking requirements have been eased. If a DADU was ruled out for your property in the past, the new rules may have changed the answer.

Rental & property value
Built with the finished result in mind
Many DADU owners build for income or for family. Either way, the decisions that matter are the same: a layout that lives well in a small footprint, systems sized and installed correctly, and finishes that hold up. SCC's background renovating residential properties shapes how we help you weigh scope against what the finished unit needs to be.
